CrimeFest 2022: How Much Blood: Depictions of Violence

D.V. Bishop writes historical thrillers set in Renaissance Florence. He was awarded a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship while writing the first in his Cesare Aldo series, City of Vengeance. It won the Pitch Perfect competition at the Bloody Scotland crime fiction festival, and was shortlisted for the 2021 Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize, and for the 2022 New Zealand Booklovers Award. The second Cesare Aldo novel, The Darkest Sin, was published in March 2022.

Ruth Dudley Edwards has been a teacher, marketing executive and civil servant and is a prize-winning biographer as well as an historian, journalist and broadcaster.  The targets of her satirical crime novels include, academia, the civil service, the House of Lords, gentlemen’s clubs, a Cambridge college, the Church of England, publishing, literary prizes and political correctness.  In 2008 she won the CrimeFest Last Laugh Award for Murdering Americans.  Killing the Emperors is about conceptual art and won the CrimeFest Last Laugh Award 2013, as well as the CWA Non-Fiction Gold Dagger for Aftermath: The Omagh Bombings and The Families’ Pursuit Of Justice (2010).

Lisa Hall loves words, reading and everything there is to love about books. She has dreamed of being a writer since she was a little girl and is now the bestselling author of Between You and Me, The Perfect Couple and The Woman in the Woods. T.E. Kinsey (Tim) was born in the 1960s. He grew up in London in the 1970s and went to university in Bristol in the 1980s. He worked in magazines in the 1990s, and for IMDb in the 2000s. He still lives near Bristol. At the moment he’s mostly responsible for the popular historical cozy series   The Lady Hardcastle Mysteries (Thomas & Mercer) but he does occasionally play the drums.  Rotten to the Core is the eigth book in the Lady Hardcastle series and will be published 6 Hune 2022.

Daisy White (aka D.E. White) is a former flight attendant and NHS ambulance worker. She writes psychological thrillers, cosy crime and crime thrillers, including her Amazon bestselling Detective Dove Milson series, which are published by Joffe Books: Glass Dolls, The Ice Daughters and The Abberley Beach Murders. Book 4 comes out in 2022. She also wrote Remember Me and The Forgotten Child published by HarperCollins, plus two cosy crime trilogies.
