ISBN: 978-1-4472-5589-5

Peter James is known as one of the top-selling police procedural, crime authors of this day. Love You Dead is the twelfth outing for his ever- popular DI Roy Grace, and this series shows no signs of tiring. However, Love You Dead isn’t quite the normal run of the mill- murdered corpse that turns up, and then the murder team set to, tracking down the killer. In this story, Grace becomes alarmingly aware that there could be a Black Widow killer from his area in Sussex. A woman with an inside knowledge of killer spiders. Two similar cases of rich men, who seemingly died from a bite from the same species of killer spider, and recently married the same woman, come to his notice. A woman from the Sussex area, using a few different aliases, so he sets to, tracking her down, putting one of his own team in danger in the process. Then he receives news that a woman using one these aliases is also wanted in America for yet another murder, and the theft of a suitcase full of counterfeit dollars. What he doesn’t know is that someone else, equally as dangerous, is also on her trail.

There is also news in this book, of his first wife Sandy, and the roller-coaster of his personal inner emotions continues.

The research that James does for his books, is evident and admirable. This is a believable, page-turning and five star read. If you haven’t read any Peter James yet, then you are certainly missing out. He has earned the reputation as the top of his game. Not only do they hit number one in the best- selling book charts as soon as they appear in print, but his stories are also written as plays and are currently touring theatres, and soon to be filmed. And rightly so. Don’t miss out on this one. Love You Dead is a truly spine-tingling read.
