David Centrelli, Director of Business Development at Medzic Pharmaceuticals meets with the heads of the Company to discuss the progress of the production of their new wonder drug called Proviseo. It is said to be a miracle cure for Type 1 diabetes and billions of dollars are at stake. They are all rather concerned that the drug may not be ready on time, or even fail the final tests. They all stress to David how important it is to meet the deadline, making him very nervous.
Later that day he receives news that his best friend Jake and his wife have been killed in a house fire. He is then approached by Jake’s ex-secretary Anne; she assures him the fire was no accident and passes him a large envelope. She reveals the fact that Jake insisted David receives the contents should anything happen to him.
Together Davd and Anne study the clues left by Jake, and it soon becomes clear that the drug is not all that it is claimed to be and could even lead to thousands of deaths in the future. The problem is, how to expose it?
So begins an unbelievable journey for them into the world of massive corruption, stretching to the highest authorities in the United States.
Their investigations soon alert those who have much to gain from the drug coming onto the market, and they find themselves experiencing one terrifying incident after another. Culminating in David’s brother being kidnapped. How long can they evade the same fate as Jake? It is obvious that their every move is being tracked. This cannot end well, can it?
Very clever and absorbing, a deeply devious plot which provides food for thought concerning big corporate companies’ extreme actions when billions are at stake.
Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a plot
they can get their teeth into.

J. Lee was born and raised in Illinois. He graduated with dual degrees in Engineering and Sociology from Duke University. He worked in Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, Program Management, Supply Chain and Operations, but always wrote in his spare time. It started as a hobby, a creative outlet that helped him balance the stress of a day spent in numbers. Then at some point, it morphed into a passion. The Deadly Deal is his third book.
Tricia Chappell. I have a great love of books and reading, especially crime and thrillers. I play the occasional game of golf (when I am not reading). My great love is cruising especially to far flung places, when there are long days at sea for plenty more reading! I am really enjoying reviewing books and have found lots of great new authors.
