Episode three in the life and times of Jamie Swift, journalist, and millionaire Max Holt, which picks up where book two left off; thus, having flounced off in a huff, Jamie finds herself in the middle of nowhere without transport or habitation. From these dubious circumstances she pitches up with a blood hound called Fleas, she has acquired along the way, in the middle of Max's investigation of a charismatic preacher with suspected ties to the Mob.
As with the earlier books, this is a great romp. Max Holt is every girls dream, but Jamie is resisting his charms, intent on a scoop of the lifetime for her newspaper. Unfortunately, keen to keep her story to herself Jamie places herself in danger with a gang of mobsters.
I missed Max's sister Dedi, but Muffin, the computer with the voice of Marilyn Monroe was much in evidence, although being installed in a truck was not to her liking. Computer's going through the menopause find these things trying!
While terrific fun, it is also suspenseful and a good read. Recommended
