The fabulous Kemp Town Bookshop in Brighton was packed for the launch of Lesley Thomson’s new novel
The Mystery of Yew Tree House,
the latest in The Detective’s Daughter series.

The audience were treated to a wide-ranging
interview in which Lesley described what gave her the idea for the story. With a dual time line, some of the action takes place during WWII in Sussex where a skeleton is found in a defence pill box. Lesley told us she visited several for her research.
A question from the audience brought up the recent Times review which said Lesley ‘makes you feel the presence of evil’. Lesley asked everyone if she was making them feel it then. Far from it, the night was simply great fun and lots of copies were signed!
