This is the 36^th book in this highly acclaimed series.  Set in 2060 it features tough no nonsense Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NYPSD.  The discovery of the body of a woman outside an empty office in New York's financial district looks at first like a mugging gone wrong.  But it doesn’t sit right with Eve.  The victim Marta Dickenson was an auditor for some high profile companies.  She is also the sister-in-law of a well-known judge.  As Eve along with her side-kick Detective Peabody delve into the lives of those around Marta, and the companies that she was auditing, she comes up against some powerful people. But why kill the auditor?

Like the thirty five preceding books, it’s a fast pace thriller.  Spiced up with several sexual scenes with charismatic gorgeous husband Rourke.  If I have one issue with Eve Dallas it’s her total disinterest in clothes, all that money and zero interest in clothes it isn’t healthy.

A must for fans who will be beating a path to buy this latest Eve Dalles investigation, and they won’t be disappointed.
