The panel are Heidi Amsinck, Michael Ridpath,
Jeffrey Siger, Ovidia Yu,
and the participating Moderator is
Michael Stanley (Stan Trollip)
Heidi Amsinck is the award-winning author of a Danish crime fiction series featuring a Copenhagen reporter called Jensen. A journalist by background, Heidi spent many years covering Britain for the Danish press, including a spell as London Correspondent for the broadsheet daily Jyllands-Posten. Born in Copenhagen, she now lives in the UK where her work has been broadcast frequently on BBC Radio 4. Her latest novel is Out of the Dark (Muswell Press, April 2025).
Michael Ridpath used to work as a bond trader in the City of London. After writing several financial thrillers, which were published in over thirty languages, he began a crime series featuring the Icelandic detective Magnus Jonson, the latest of which is Whale Fjord. He has also written five stand-alone historical thrillers set in the twentieth century. He lives in London.
Jeffrey Siger fled his position as a name partner in his own
NYC law firm to write Greece-based mystery thrillers on Mykonos. The New
York Times picked him as Greece’s thriller novelist of record, and Reader’s
Digest Select Editions described him as among its “new favorite authors.”
He’s received Lefty and Barry “Best Novel” nominations for his CI Andreas
Kaldis series, been Chair of Bouchercon, and served as an adjunct college
professor teaching mystery writing.
OvidiA Yu
is a Singapore based writer who schedules (for the last time, alas!) her visits
to the UK to attend Crimefest. The nine books in her tree history mystery
series feature authentic locations, events and heritage trees in Singapore and
have been described as a good introduction to the atmosphere, humour and food
of Singapore. Her most recent books are The Angsana Tree Mystery (2024)
and The Rose Apple Tree Mystery (2025).
Stanley
Trollip writes
with Michael Sears as Michael Stanley. Their Detective Kubu novels are set in
Botswana. The ninth will be out later this year. They also wrote a thriller
about rhino poaching, Dead of Night, set in South Africa, featuring
investigative journalist Crystal Nguyen. Stanley also wrote a Crystal Nguyen
thriller, Wolfman, set in Minnesota. They won a Barry Award and were
finalists for other awards including an Edgar and an ITW award.

Thanks so much, Lizzie
