Earlier this year, Amazon named Martin the fourth most-read author of the decade on Kindle Unlimited in the UK, a rare accolade that reflects her global popularity. The No.1 most-read author was J.K. Rowling. Known for her masterful plotting and beloved DI Hillary Greene series, Martin has become a cornerstone of crime fiction.
Martin may have inherited her storytelling skills from modernist icon James Joyce, author of Ulysses and Dubliners, who is believed to be her great-uncle. Martin’s branch of the Joyce family moved to England in the early 20th century. Unfortunately, all records were destroyed in the 1922 fire at the Public Record Office in Dublin, so the connection can never be proved for sure.
Faith Martin says: “I never had any idea when I wrote the first Hillary Greene books that she would be so popular with readers, let along that I’d reach the magical number of a billion pages read in Kindle Unlimited. I still keep thinking someone’s made a mistake with their sums! It’s all down to my wonderful readers, and I can’t thank them enough.”
Publisher Jasper Joffe, CEO of Joffe Books, says:
“Faith Martin is a phenomenon. Her incredible popularity with
readers and this billion-page milestone are a testament to her storytelling
genius and dedication.”
Her agent, Kate Nash of the Kate Nash Literary Agency, says: “Faith Martin’s stories are so popular with readers that the numbers speak for themselves. In the music industry, 1 billion streams means you are Adele, and in books, being a billion-pages-read author is truly sustained chart-topping.”
Best known for her long-running DI Hillary Greene series, Faith Martin continues to captivate readers worldwide, with more titles on the horizon
