Billie Pearce, divorcee and mother of two decides to take polo lessons whilst her two children are holidaying in Disneyworld with their father. She meets Nick Kaharchek, who is everything to be avoided, rich, handsome and with the reputation of a womaniser. But Billie finds him rather fascinating, looking from afar that is, but that changes when Billie injures her foot at Nick’s stable and suddenly there he is in Billie’s kitchen fixing her a meal.

Before Billie knows, it she had agreed to accept his cousin Dedi as a lodger, just for a couple of weeks until Dedi marries. It all sounds simple at first, that is except for an invasion of spiders, Raol, her pest control man seems unable to control. Then Billie’s children come home unexpectedly, and amidst the mayhem Billie learns of mad Max, Dedi’s brother who is intent on blowing things up, and in particular Nick.

Contending with Dedi and her impending nuptials to a wrestler, Nick’s ex fiancee, who has decided she wants Nick back, not to mention the spiders. Billie has her work cut out to keep her feet on the ground, but does she want to?

This is mainly a romance with a mystery thrown in, but great Evanovich stuff. A must for all Evanovich fans.
