The series about Anna Pigeon, National Park Service Ranger, has reached another instalment.

Anna has worked in Parks all over the USA and thus time she has become the temporary Chief Ranger in Acadia National Park in Maine.  Her friends Gwen and Heath, with Heath's adopted daughter Elizabeth, decide to go with her and stay in a house on a small island off the coast.  The island is called Boar Island.

The reason for this temporary sojourn on the island is  that the teenaged Elizabeth has been targeted by a cyber stalker and has been driven to despair.  However, they quickly realise that the stalker has followed them.  The island becomes not a refuge but a trap.  A further complication ensues when a brutal murder occurs in the park.  To add to everyone's concerns Heath is  paraplegic  so quick movement against an enemy is very hard for her to achieve.

This is an exciting thriller in which the central characters suffer many reverses; with Anna taking a lot of physical punishment.  This is not unusual for her as readers of the previous adventures will attest!    The reader is carried along on a wave of sympathy for the battles against unknown enemies fought by a group of feisty women.
